Storytelling in the Park

  • Playground at Allan Gardens, or the Children’s Conservatory during wet weather. 160 Gerrard St E Toronto, ON, M5A 2E5 Canada (map)

Children and Families are welcome!

This program will take place in the Playground during dry weather, however if it’s raining, the Children’s Conservatory on the north-west side of the park will be used. Email: outreach@childrensbookbank.com to get on the mailing list for updates.

Storytelling in the Park is a program for children and families in the Allan Gardens neighbourhood, hosted in partnership with the Children’s Book Bank, and Toronto Metropolitan University’s Office of Social Innovation

Storytelling in the Park is a nature-themed storytime that celebrates the diversity of the Garden District and surrounding area. Each story is told by a local ‘storytelling whiz.’ Each child will be given a few books to take home at the end of every storytime, thanks to the Children’s Book Bank free book giveaway!

The Children’s Book Bank provides free, gently used books and literacy support to children and their families living in vulnerable or high-needs neighbourhoods throughout Toronto. Since opening in 2008, the Book Bank has delivered over one million books through its storefront programming in Regent Park/St. Jamestown/Moss Park neighbourhoods, as well as in partnership with hundreds of community organizations, social agencies and schools across the city.

Storytelling in the Park is FREE to attend on a drop-in basis. The program is led by Dave Page of the Children’s Book Bank.
