Update: Thanks to all who have registered. Registration is now closed as we are at the capacity for the program. Thank you!
Join Donna Powless, Cayuga (Six Nations), Director of the Taiaiako’n Historical Preservation Society, and her family to make crafts and ornaments out of birch bark, dogwood, pinecones, and other plants.
As we are working with these plants, we will share stories about the plants.
-What to Expect -
Event begins at 1:30pm with a shared meal, followed by crafts and storytelling.
We will be hosting a sacred fire in the Edible Garden where Donna’s son Troy, and grandson Ethan will be fire keepers.
If the mood is right, we will also sing a few songs together to celebrate our tree relatives, and the coming winter solstice.
-What to Bring-
Please bring some nut-free food to share. Soup and scones will be provided.
Feel free to bring a crafting project you’re already working on if you’d like to find time for that.
Registration required. We have space for 20 participants. All are welcome.
