Vermicompost Workshop for Beginners

  • Children’s Conservatory at Allan Gardens 160 Gerrard St E Toronto, ON, M5A 2E5 Canada (map)

Join us at Friends of Allan Gardens' Vermicompost Workshop, where we'll provide urban gardeners with everything you need to begin vermicomposting at home.

Vermicomposting involves using worms to turn kitchen and garden waste into compost (worm castings), which improve your garden soil and provide nutrients to plants in a form that they can use almost immediately. Vermicomposting is also the best way to compost indoors, 12 months of the year!

In this workshop, we’ll talk about the concept of vermicomposting, dispel some of the myths, and demonstrate how to build and maintain a vermicompost bin.

Please note registration is required. Sign up here:

  • 1 lid for the top bin

  • 1 block of coco coir OR some non-glossy newsprint for shredding

We'll also have a limited number of supplies for purchase, by donation.
