Join our Board of Directors – Fundraising Director
The Friends of Allan Gardens is seeking an experienced fundraiser to join our Board of Directors. The Fundraising Director will work closely with the board, staff and volunteer team to plan and implement fundraising campaigns and events that meet the strategic objectives of the organization.
Duties:
Develop a quarterly philanthropic revenue cycle, including appeals, plant sales etc.;
Maintain records of gifts and thank donors;
Cultivate and solicit major donors;
Share and implement ideas to improve fundraising strategy;
Write newsletter articles for the “Giving Back” section of The Leaflet.
Qualifications:
An educational background and / or commensurate experience in fundraising;
An enthusiasm for generating ideas and solutions;
Strong organization and communication skills with keen attention to detail;
Organized and able to meet deadlines;
Willing to work as part of a small committee;
Experience working with volunteers and not-for-profit organizations is an asset;
Knowledge of the Allan Gardens community is an asset.
Commitment:
This is an on-going volunteer role that requires a time commitment of between 3-5 hours per month, in addition to monthly 1.5 hour virtual Board meetings.
Three year term, renewable.
