Where’s the Honey?

The honey from Ilknur Bee Yard’s first crop in Canada has been successfully and joyfully consumed. She will return in August with the 2025 summer harvest.

For now, the bees cluster and flap their wings to stay warm. They are huddled around their queen consuming honey they made for these cold days. Each hive will eat through about 100 pounds of the honey that Ilknur left them and be ready to emerge with new baby bees around the Spring solstice. They will once again gather pollen and nectar from the early blossoming plants (dandelions, and Linden trees).

We look forward to when Ilknur will bring her 3 generations of beekeeping expertise back to Allan Gardens with products that literally contain the sweetness of this land.
