Allan Gardens Seedy Sunday

The Friends of Allan Gardens & Homestead T.O. have teamed up to host Allan Garden’s inaugural Seedy Sunday event! Come support us to make our event a success!

What to expect?

This is a drop-in event for all ages and all gardening levels. We will have different stations set up. You are encouraged to visit them all!

Seeds for sale. Organic seeds from @uharvest & asian culinary seeds from @lehangtrieu. Bring cash as some vendors may not accept cards.

Community seed exchange table co-led with @torontoseedlibrary. If you bring us your spare seeds, you’ll be able to take seeds for free. If you don’t have spare seeds to share, you can purchase these seed exchange packs for $1/each, or another reasonable offer.

Vermicompost demonstration station to inspire you all to take up vermicomposting at home!

Seed starting and garden planning station led by Derek of @homesteadto.

ProjectSwallowtail booth to chat about native plants and pollinators!

Kid-friendly activities including a scavenger hunt and seed envelope making!

A small plant sale of volunteer propagated plants. Funds raised during plant sales go towards ensuring our programs remain free and accessible to all!

Event Details

📍 Allan Gardens Children’s Conservatory on the West Side of the Park by Jarvis/Carlton. 160 Gerrard Street E, Toronto, ON

🗓️ Sunday March 03, 2024, 1pm to 4pm

Please note our capacity is limited, and we may have a line to get into the space. We are able to process the line fairly quickly, and if one does form, you’re also welcome to visit the beautiful display houses while you wait for the line to dissipate. Unlike at our plant sales, we’re likely to have a good selection of inventory throughout the entire event!

Take transit, walk, or bike if you are able. Street parking is available. Please comply with posted parking regulations.

Looking to take your veggie gardening to the next level? Consider enrolling in Homestead T.O.’s Grow Veggies program! This program teaches people how to grow food in the city through in-person and online sessions. They’re on a mission to help build resilience in Toronto by getting people’s hands in the soil and teaching them how to grow their own vegetables. Join their community of people from all backgrounds, of all ages, to share in the experience of growing food together! Learn more here.
